I don’t have it all figured out, but I know where I’m headed. I'm not the type to sit quietly in the corner, when I have something to say I'll make it known. I'm not one to watch clouds float by from behind a window pane, I'd rather go chase after them. I'll never settle for less in life, its simply just not my style.
My name is Kayalin A, I am a freshman in high school. I play basketball for VHS and I have many aspirations in life. My philosophy is if you want to make a change, you must start with yourself and set goals.
In order to be someone these days, you must have the best education possible. My goals for my academics are to maintain a 4.0 for my years here at Foothill, it will be difficult but I am a very self motivated person and I know that I am capable. Things that will help me achieve my goal are to work on procrastinating less and always make sure that school work is the first priority. Another one of my goals is to become a fluent Spanish speaker by my senior year.
Basketball is my passion. My goal for freshman year is to at least be starting on JV and showing the coaches that I am willing to do whatever it takes to be on Varsity. By sophomore year I hope to be an important player on Varsity and by junior year be starting. I'm a hard worker and I'm very self disciplined which will help me to reach these goals.
My family is my main support system and the few people that I can guarantee will never fade out of my life. My goals with my family are to remain close with my little sister because after all she is the most important person to me. I want to always be there for her no matter what. Another goal is to keep good communication with my whole family.
Maintaining my social life is something I feel will be a challenge over the next few years. As if school and basketball aren't overwhelming enough, throw in being a teenage girl on top of that and things get complicated. My goal that will help me is to balance out my social activities with school and sports. My main goal above all is to always remain confident in myself as a person and not to get discouraged no matter how hard school gets. I feel that if I always put out my best work than achieving my goals will follow naturally.
